Share the Peas camp
Share the Peas camp is a special week for those campers interested in living the spirit of “philanthro-pea” in spreading summertime love (and produce!) to our friends in need in the community.
Over the course of the week, camper will learn about the fruits and vegetables growing on the farm, play games and hear stories, and race around the farm on a competitive scavenger hunt. Activities every day will touch on the subject of hunger and offer opportunities for campers to embody the spirit of giving too-oft reserved for the winter months. Campers participate in team-building activities, harvest vegetables and prepare boxes to offer to friends in their own communities, and help in the creation of a long-lasting art installation on the farm. The week culminates with a glean in the fields and the packing of produce for a donation to our friends down the road at Hopelink.
Share the Peas camp is in the spirit of Oxbow’s special brand of TLC–tender love and carrots!
This is our second year running Share the Peas camp. Read more about last year’s camp and check out the photo gallery here.
