Resolve to make a difference in 2019: Volunteer!
- Make the world a greener place by planting native trees
- Prefer the outdoors to the gym? Get your workout and build better habitats by digging up blackberries, making way for native plants
- Grow our future scientists by bringing nature into school classrooms this winter
- Teach a child to love veggies by helping them explore our Kids’ Farm during Summer Camp
Resolve to volunteer at Oxbow this year and help us our food, forests, and future! Below are a few opportunities coming up:
While it might be too soggy for kids to take a farm field-trip this time of year, it’s always a good season for learning! During the winter months, the Oxbow Education team visits classrooms throughout King & South Snohomish Counties, offering in-class lessons that feature hands-on learning about worms, seeds, pollination, and more. Join us in bringing farm-fresh fun into the classroom. Programs run January through March, Mon-Fri, specific times and locations vary.
It’s never too early to plan for summer fun! As Oxbow’s summer farm day camps begin filling up with excited kids, we’re seeking energetic, patient, fun-loving volunteers to support our education team during camp weeks. Dates for 2019: Jun 24-28, Jul 8-12, Jul 22-26, Jul 29-Aug 2, Aug 12-16. On-farm Summer Camp volunteer training day is slated for June 21, 2019, depending on volunteer availability. Volunteers must be 14 or older. Email our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@oxbow.org to learn more and sign up.
Winter Restoration Events in early 2019
We’ve resolved to get 600 trees and shrubs in the ground at Oxbow. Come make it happen!
The farm may be resting under its blanket of cover crops, but our native plants are ready to take root. Come help us reach our planting goals and build clean soil, water, and air while we do it!
