Pea progress
Remember meeting our sugar snap peas last month? A lot has changed since then!
We’ve weeded them three times–the warm and dry spring has even enabled us to weed mechanically, a much faster process than hand-weeding–and about ten days ago we put together the trellises they will grow up for the rest of their lives.
We mentioned before that we spaced our peas a little differently this season so that they are sown much more densely this year than in past years. This “wall” of peas is tall enough to cast a lot of shade, so the vines shouldn’t be by weeds much more
Depending on the weather, we’re looking at having sugar snap peas for you in early June. Once they come on, they seriously come on, so start finding those recipes now.
