Volunteer Opportunity: Restoration Work Party

While our fields are resting for the winter is the perfect time to plant native trees and shrubs. The extra rainfall helps those new roots to grow and spread through the soil before they start to get tall, giving our plants a strong base to grow from. It’s also a great time for us here at Oxbow to expand and deepen our impact.

We are very excited to be taking our efforts beyond the farm and out into the Snoqualmie Valley and Fall City. We will be planting on the Haffner-Barfuse Floodplain Restoration project in partnership with the Snoqualmie Tribe. We are so excited to expand Oxbow’s restoration footprint by participating in this project that improves the river flow for endangered salmon and their downstream predators, the orca.

Of course we couldn’t make such a big splash without our volunteers, so join Oxbow as we restore the native habitats in the Snoqualmie Valley. We will provide gloves, tools, and water.

You should bring:

• your reusable water bottle
• boots or close-toed shoes
• clothes to get muddy in
• weather-appropriate outerwear
• snacks or lunch if you want them

Minor Waivers

Please note that while we welcome minors to volunteer with us, the following waiver must be filled out by a parent or guardian and returned to our Restoration Volunteer Coordinator, either by email at dawn@oxbow.org or in person, the day of your volunteer event!
