Eyes on the peas
We are thrilled (and relieved) that our new sugar snap pea strategy for this season is working beautifully!
It hasn’t even been a month since our last pea update, but so much has changed in the five beds of sugar snaps. The cooler weather and recent rain have been a blessing. The vines are up to six feet tall and have flowered and are now fruiting generously. Peas are on tap by the pound for delivery next week!
In the meantime, we still have pea shoots for you to try out. They have the essential flavor of the fruiting pea, but packed into the tender tendrils of young pea vines. They’re nice for a quick sautee. Read more about pea shoots and what you can do with them here.
